On March 22, 2018, Wentzville School District hosted its second annual film festival. The festival viewed, judged, celebrated, and rewarded films written, and produced by students of Wentzville School District.

There are multiple different types of entries, in 8 different categories. These are, Informational, Instructional, Music Videos, News Package, Psa/Commercial, Sports, Story, and Animated Story. In total, there were over 130 submissions, and 22 were chosen.

Holt had its own two winners, Cassidy Wood for her entry, “The Color of Music”, entered as a story. The second winner was Lillian Bancroft, for her entry, “We carry them with us”, entered as a Music video.

Let’s hope for the continuance and further success of our young filmmakers, and the continuance of the WSD film festival, for a third year, and longer still.
