On Wednesday March 6th Holt will be facing off against Timberland and Liberty in the 4th annual Wentzville School District Battle of the Books, this year the battle will return to Holt for the 2nd time since it stated. Battle of the Books is a free to attend event and will be taking place at 6 o’clock in the Holt library, the Battle will consist of 10 rounds asking question about this years Gateway books, a audience round will also be held as an intermission after the first 5 rounds.  This years team was chosen through a Kahoot game that was held during A.I. on February 13th where the top 7 made the team, out of the competitors the 7 that are will be on the team are, Sharayu Shrinivas(‘20), Emma Robertson (‘22), Gina Saso (‘22), Lydia Cella (‘21), Helen Le (‘21), Isabel Landuyt (‘21), and Jessica Batista (‘19).  Holt’s team is looking forward to taking the trophy back from last year’s champions Liberty High School and being the first of the Wentzville School District High Schools to score their second Battle of the Books win.

”Since it is the fourth year of Battle of the Books and each school has won once we are very hopeful that we will be the first school to win twice, it is the year to take back the trophy” says Holt Librarian and Battle of the Books coach Mrs. Lock.  However, Timberland seems to want the win just as badly with Timberland taking to twitter to announce their team

“Introducing our 2019 Book Battle Team! Watch out @HoltLibrary (Holt libraries twitter) @LibertyHsLib (Liberty Libraries twitter) we are coming for the trophy” says Timberland.  Holt Library however made sure to fireback.

“Get your read on T-Land. We can’t wait to see you and @LibertyHSLib on the book battle field March 6!” tweeted Holt Library and then the next day Holt directly responded to Timberland tweet.

“We can’t wait! Bring it on @THSreads (Timberland libraries twitter) and @LibertyHSLib!” says Holt.
