School Closed – COVID-19

On March 15, all schools in the Wentzville School District announced that school would be cancelled until April 3rd. On March 13, President Trump announced a National Emergency. 

CDC does not recommend any groups of 50 people or over gather for at least two months. As of right now, teachers were told to prepare at least two weeks of work for students in case of school being shut down.

A message directly from the school website says, “All schools in the Wentzville School District are CLOSED beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All school activities, including athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, will be canceled during the time schools are closed.”

A message from Dr. Cain states “In the Wentzville School District, we put the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff above all else. The decision to close our schools was extremely difficult, made in consultation with all area superintendents and health officials and out of an abundance of caution for our families.”

Everyone is advised to continue to wash their hands, use hand sanitizer and keep a good distance away from others and large groups. It’s important to keep calm and stay aware of the situation.
