During these times, it’s hard to find things that are exciting to do. Life can be overwhelming when you are trying to be productive but can’t find anything to be productive with.
The stores are shut down and just about everything else is to. It may feel like there is no where to go or nothing to do, which can really cause a damper on one’s day.
However, there is one thing that you can still do with all of the chaos going on in the world: take a nature walk.
Those words to most people may sound repetitive and boring and it’s probably what most student’s parents are constantly nagging at them to do. This time, the parents are right.
Nature walks provide a surprising amount of benefits for one’s health. Walks in nature are proven to lower levels of depression, anxiety, and stress. Walking outside at a brisk pace releases the feel-good endorphins.
In fact, studies show that people that live in more urban areas that have less access to areas with nature are more inclined to have psychological problems than people who live in more rural areas.
Going outside may even help students actually do their online school work.
Some places near the Wentzville area that are great for walks (as long as one is socially distanced) are listed below:
Creve Coeur Lake
Indian Camp Creek
With this all being said, please do yourself a favor and get outside! Take advantage of this time and go explore the wonderful earth.
