Holt Basketball Seniors Reflect after Senior Night

For the six seniors on the Holt girls and boys basketball teams, their games last Wednesday the 15th and Friday the 17th mark the last time they will ever play in front of the Indian faithful. The girls defeated in-town rival Liberty, 74-60, on Wednesday to win their third straight game, and the boys dropped a tough one against St. Dominic, 57-41, on Friday. Though they may have played their last game here, they have left some incredible memories in this gym.

Each of the six seniors were asked to 1.) describe their emotions prior to their senior night game and 2.) describe their favorite memory from their high school basketball career. Here are their responses:

Allie Barry

  1. I was really sad thinking about playing my last game with all of my best friends and having to leave them next year, but I was pumped to play my last home game with all of them.
  2. All of the friends I have made over the last three years and how all of them have made moving to Missouri one of the best things that has happened to me.

Jillian Starke

  1. I was anxious knowing it was my last game playing in Holt’s gym, but I was pumped to play my last home game with my best friends.
  2. Winning districts last year and becoming great friends with all of these girls over the last four years.

Lake Feldmann

  1. It wasn’t all that different from any other game. I was just excited and ready to play.
  2. Beating Timberland at their place on Pink Night this year.

Trevon Jefferson

  1. I was extremely nervous knowing it was my last home game.
  2. Breaking one of the main rims. We had to get new ones on all of them after that.

Gabe Moeller

  1. It didn’t seem real. It didn’t seem like it should have been my last home game. It was nice, though, to step out on our home court one last time with the guys that have been together since the beginning.
  2. Hanging with all of my teammates at the Mizzou camp over the summer and getting to bond with them.

Noah Zak

  1. It was a bittersweet feeling knowing that this would be my last game at Holt, but I was satisfied with everything we have accomplished.
  2. Beating Timberland on Pink Night this year.

It’s been a long ride, and a bumpy one at times, but the Holt basketball seniors are thankful for the time they have gotten to play the game they love in front of the Holt fans. Good luck in the playoffs to both teams.
