In FBLA, there are many different types of things to do and learn about through certain events.
“It’s just an inclusive group where you can stem out and find what you want to do in the future. Even if you don’t find that it’s just a very fun group that you can find friends in and make good connections and it’s just a very fun club.” Addi Roberts (‘25) said.
“We go to conferences and compete in things like presentations, taking tests, and go to workshops.” Leah Huitt (‘24) said.
FBLA has been able to represent Holt by competing in several different competitions over the past school year.
One of these conferences was the state conference. At the state conference, they had to integrate many different types of skills that they learned while in FBLA.
“We would show them our presentation, use our speaking skills, and show our videos as well as the graphics we created and then get feedback afterward.” Huitt said.
They were also able to participate in Nationals.
We went onto the national level and we competed in front of judges. There were close to 100 people in our competition for broadcast journalism,” Addi Roberts (‘25) said.
Within all these conferences they were able to get Third place at State. This led them to be eligible to participate at the state conference.
At the Nationals for FBLA, there were representatives from not only just the Unites States, but from all across the world coming in to represent their FBLA group.
“About over 10,000 people from across the United States, plus places like Brazil and China.” Huitt said.
The team hopes to make it to Nationals again this year.
