Friday Night Lights is a perfect way for students to get involved and to come out and support their team. This is Holt’s third year as Gateway American Conference (GAC) Champions. Every game of the season, students have really shown their school spirit and have really shown what it means to be a Holt Indian.
Wide Receiver Jaden Davis (‘25) said that next season he wants to have overall development and take his team to the championships. Davis’s favorite memory this season was beating Timberland(score) after they eliminated the Indians in the playoff’s last season.
“My goal (for the team) is to hopefully rebuild and get better, and hopefully win the state championship my senior year,” Davis said.
Deontae Rickmon (‘26) mentions that this season was really good and mentions that the team has had some flaws but they work them them and turn them positive. Rickmon’s goal for next season is to score touchdowns and get playing time for the season next school year.
Receiver Kayone Thompson (‘25) has made goals to bring his team to win next year’s championship and learn from the example of the departing seniors.
“I’m going to try and break the receiving yards record or win state,” Thompson said. “I’m going to miss our seniors, We have a lot of players leaving.”
Kyle Edgar (‘24) and Mason Barnes (‘24) and Chase Lasater (’24) make sure when they show up to the games at Holt they show out. Lasater and Edgar are student section leaders, and they plan out the themes for each game so the students can dress up and get involved.
“(I love) going out and supporting all of my friends,”Edgar said. “Especially the big rival games and the overall atmosphere and energy that we bring to the games.”
“I’m going to miss the atmosphere for sure and all the people that come out to each game and support our team.”
