There was a feeling of uncertainty as the band entered the new school year. fast cash loans online. The previous band director, James Cunningham, who had been the band director for the past 30 years had just retired. Band members returning for another year didn’t know how to feel at first about a new band director.
“It was very stressful because I didn’t know if I was going to have a good senior year or a bad senior year, because this was all I had been building up to,” Tim Price (’24) said.
While Cunningham left big shoes to fill, new band director Joshua Stettes has done an incredible job filling the role according to his students.
“Having a new band director is a huge shift in everything, so I wasn’t really sure how it was going to work out,” Price said. “I was really proud of our new director and everyone in band.” said Brennen Caban (24).
Taking a look at the bands awards this year shows that this has been one of the best years they’ve had in a while.
Here are just a few of the awards band as been awarded this year:
– Best Auxillary – Best Music
– Best Visuals
– Highest Prelim score
It was a complete sweep in the preliminary with band winning most of the awards. Band received the highest combined score of the two rounds. In the finals round band won:
– 1st place in the finals round
– Best in Auxiliary
– Best in Music
– Best in Visuals
