Prom is an exciting night for all upperclassmen. It’s a time to dress up and for the seniors one last dance before a new life. Hazyl Smith (‘24) said that she will miss taking pictures and seeing her friends go all out with getting dressed up.
“[Prom was] a final gathering for everyone to just have fun before the seniors graduate,” said Smith.
Although seniors are going to miss prom, underclassmen such as Tabitha Scott (‘26) and Sophia Euton (‘26) got to go with friends.
“I really liked getting to prom and being able to see all my friends and their dresses, and getting to socialize with people!” said Euton.
Others like Scott were a little more weary.
“If I had to describe prom, I would say it was very chaotic. As a Sophomore going to prom, I was definitely nervous but I had lots of fun,” said Scott.
One noticeable difference between the girls getting ready and the guys getting ready is the amount of time it takes. Some girls took as little as thirty or forty minutes, while others took 6 hours or longer! While the boys on the other hand took at most thirty to forty minutes.
Dinner is an important part of Prom, whether you go to somewhere fancy or somewhere more simple. Getting dressed up to go out for dinner is always a thrill.
September Nichol (‘24) went to Waffle House with their fellow friends, Jenna Mathews (‘24), Zoey Graber (’24), Kaitlyn Britt (‘24), Kayel Heutel (’24), Chris Lynch (‘24) and Holt Graduate Andi Carney.
“My group went to waffle house for dinner, It was extremely fun to go to a place where we practically had the restaurant to ourselves,” Nichol said. “It was nice because we got to sit with our partners but still got to sit kind of as a group.”
