Some students at Holt High School during the day expressed some of their favorite athletes and why they are so special to them. Or maybe the students are playing their favorite sport and feel like their favorites.
Sports are a key thing that some people need to complete their lives. Most like to spend money betting, cheer, or even just for the sake of having a cool jersey or clothes. There are plenty of players on almost every team you can think of. And a lot of people have certain people they like better than others. Maybe a person who they idol or just like their name and what they do or sport they play.
Jordan Northern (‘28) talks about who he really idolizes and why it’s good for somebody to have memorabilia.
“My favorite player is D.K. Metcalf because he is a really good wide receiver and plays for my favorite team.” Northern said, “It’s easy to have a piece of my favorite player because it’s somebody you have to stick to for a while if you’re dedicated.”
A wide receiver is a football quarterback’s best friend, the quarterback’s main target. They run routes, catch the ball and are strong and fast. But a receiver wouldn’t be anything without a good quarterback. Cameron Hense (‘28) is on the side of great quarterbacks.
“Lamar Jackson is by far my favorite athlete of your Baltimore Ravens,” Hense said, “He is without a doubt one of the most electrifying players to watch in the NFL.”
Football is the most popular sport in the U.S.A, but not everybody is quite as a superfan as some others. Some people might not even like football and prefer basketball. Ian Baue (‘28) is an avid basketball fan and even plays for the freshman team.
“Steph Curry is my favorite because he is a very good NBA player,” Baue said, “I believe Curry is one of the best players ever because of his shooting and leadership abilities.”
In some eyes it is amazing to have a favorite and maybe there is a chance you can pick up a player. Now that you read other peoples favorites, what are some of yours?
