This year seems to be filled with a lot of change. From Focus as the new gradebook software, to the Football team changing districts, there is a more familiar type of change to add to it all, and that is new staff members and secretary. I got to sit down with new Administrative assistant Leslie Wagner and ask her a few questions. Wagner came from Timberland to work for Holt. She has worked in the Wentzville school district for 17 years in various secretarial roles.
Wagner’s daily duties consist of making sure that there are substitute teachers available when teachers are out of school, as well as ensuring that staff time is submitted to the Payroll Department. Ms. Wagner also manages the Graduation preparations for our seniors before they walk across the stage during the ceremony.
Q. How has Holt been so far? A. The students and staff have been so welcoming, and I love what I do!
Q. What prior experience have you had? A. I have worked with the wentzville school district for 16 years in various secretarial roles.
Q. What’s something most people probably don’t know about you? A. I love music and movies.
Q. What’s your favorite characteristic about yourself? A. My favorite characteristic about myself would have to be that I am usually confident about myself and my actions.
Q. What is one of the hardest things about your job? A. One of the more challenging parts of my job is keeping up with the constant changes that arise when we get new computer programs to learn.
Q. What are some of your everyday tasks? A. I route the calls to the appropriate departments, and I send out communication to staff, students, and parents. These are just a few of the things that I am responsible for each day.
