This year seems to be filled with a lot of change. From Focus as the new gradebook software, to the Football team changing districts, there is a more familiar type of change to add to it all, and that is new staff members and secretary. I got to sit down with new Administrative assistant Emilee Goldsmith and ask her a few questions. Goldsmith graduated from college in April of this year. She also coaches the dance team.
Goldsmith’s daily duties consist of checking students in and out, facilitating the lobby when parents or packages come, answering the phone calls and emails, and making sure attendance is up to date and fixing any mistakes within each student.
Q. How has Holt been so far? A. I get to see a lot of different faces so It’s nice being able to interact with people and build relationships.
Q. What previous experiences have you had? A. I graduated from college in April of this year. I also worked at the front desk at a gymnastics company, so I got to really grasp the idea of working at the front desk.
Q. What’s something most people probably don’t know about you? A. I danced in college and High School.
Q. What’s your favorite characteristic about yourself? A. I like how I’m organized. But at the same time I like to have fun.
Q. What is one of the hardest things about your job? A. One hard thing about my job is how many things can happen at once. Having to answer the phone and have someone here to check in and all of my normal day to day tasks. A lot happens at one time but it is nice to figure out a solution and roll with whatever happens.
