Over the years Holt has held their annual district wide parade. Each parade celebrated and gave credit to the athletes and clubs alike for all the hard work they have put in. This whole event has been coordinated, and ran by the Student Council. The big question is, how exactly do they coordinate this whole event.
According to Stuco’s Vice President, Henry Sizemore (‘26), how they run their events are roughly the same. “For every Stuco event we have binders we fill out. Each of those binders have specific steps that we have to follow including a agenda sheet, calendar, and more day to day instruction. Along with getting the students in order, they also need to make sure the roads are clear so that the parade can take place accordingly. They are able to do this by “getting our route approved by the city, and then getting Ms. Monk to contact the Chief of Police in order to close off the correct roads,” Sizemore said.
Thanks to all the hard work Stuco put into the parade, it turned out to be a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
“I think the homecoming parade was really fun. I never been in a parade before, so my first time. So I was waving so much for people I don’t even know different schools, getting out candy. I also had Michael with me, so we were talking and having fun.” Sidney Crockett (’25) said
Overall, Student Council works incredibly hard to put on a great assembly each and every year.
For the parade more specifically they were mainly focused on more specific details for the parade “We mainly focus on getting the entries done and then making a map in the lineup of what everyone, and where everyone is for the day,” Sizemore said.
