The heat of the sun beating down, the sounds of cheering from the bleachers, and that feeling when you’re about to kick, about to score the winning goal…
Soccer. One of America’s most beloved sports. A lot of student’s love soccer, especially the school’s girls soccer team.

Alex Ramsey (‘26) has been playing soccer for years and feels that it improved her life.
“(Soccer) really does bring a lot of people together, and it has made my life so much better,” Ramsey said.
“The girls (on the team) are really great, and I love playing with those girls every year. They’re some of my favorite people, and I’ve made some of my closest friends that way.”

Caroline Harke (‘27) is excited to improve her skills during this upcoming season.
“I practiced a lot (in the off-season) and I’m just excited to have (a) better experience and play with new players,” Harke said.
She also comments on how it feels to be on a girl’s team when sports are typically a male-dominated field.
“I think (soccer) is really awesome and girls can be so good at soccer, especially because there’s more guys playing sports usually and girls can get really good at it.”
Overall, the girl’s soccer team is a very tight-knit group, and they help prove how sports can bring people together.
