“Godspell” Comes to Holt
Holt High School’s actors are producing their own version of Godspell on November 16 through November 19. The show will take place in the C. H. Jones auditorium at 7:00 each night.
Godspell is unlike any other musical that this high school has produced.
“I can’t even express my excitement. We’ve all worked so hard and it’s unlike any show we’ve ever done,” Madison Steiner (‘18) said.
The musical doesn’t just have one main plot. The show consists of many parables and lessons.
“The main message of the play is taking the world from a place of despair and disharmony to a place of hope for the future. Most of the parables come from the book of St. Matthew. By the end of the show, Jesus has prepared his new disciples to continue to make change in the world even after his crucifixion,” said stage manager, Lily Bancroft.
“It has a lot of parables in it so it teaches a lot of morals,” said Leo Difranco.
This will be the first musical under the new theater director, James Bagnall. It won’t be Holt’s first production, as the school has much background with musical theater.
In short, everyone should come see this musical. These students have all put an immense amount of hard work into the play and are ecstatic about showing their product.
“I’m so excited for people to come out and see it it’s such a fun show,” Izzy Nutt (‘20) said.
Come out and see Godspell this Thursday- Saturday!
