Debunking The Most Common Hogwarts’ Myth

Debunking The Most Common Hogwarts' Myth

Is the Slytherin house at Hogwarts really all that evil? Most people grew up reading the books and watching the movies. Everyone rooted for Gryffindor and, of course, loved to see the failure of Slytherin. But why is that?

Well, of course, the antagonists in the Harry Potter series are characters such as Draco Malfoy and his fickle henchmen, Crabbe and Goyle. If you do not already know, they are all members of the misunderstood house, Slytherin. So, it is obvious as to where this myth has stemmed from, but it is entirely wrong.

In fact, the most famous wizard, Merlin. was in Slytherin. The ribbon of a First Class Order of Merlin is green to reflect his Hogwart’s house.  And yes, of course, Slytherin had produced some dark wizards such as Bellatrix Lestrange, but so have the other three houses.

What people have not realized is that there is an entire wizarding world that J.K. Rowling has created outside of the books, meaning, there is a Hogwarts outside of what you read. Do not let a few nasty characters and bad timing change your perception of Slytherin.
