Top 3 Daytrips – Explore Missouri Over Spring Break

Spring Break is approaching and some people are travelling, but others are stuck here in Missouri. Although Wentzville isn’t too fun, Missouri is full of fun things to do to spend your break or even a day. Here is a compiled list of the 3 top things to do in Missouri that are relatively close to Wentzville.

 1. Elephant Rocks State Park ~ Belleview (1 h 52 min)

Elephant Rocks State Park is a state-owned geological reserve. The park get’s its name from the large granite boulders scattered all across the park in which resemble the large pink backs of circus elephants. In 1967 a large donation was made to the state by geologist John Stafford and went to funding for the park. Thanks John! This beautiful park is a great place for picnicking, rock climbing and trail exploration. It is most ideal for a fun day trip.

2. Branson/Silver Dollar City ~ Branson (3 h 52 min) 

Branson is located in the Ozark Mountains and has been a popular vacation destination for travelers everywhere. Branson is home to numerous entertainment theaters. Branson also boasts entertaining museums such as the Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley’s Odditorium and the Titanic Museum. There are zip-lines, cave tours, Go Karts, Mini Gold, Horseback rides, old time photos and we cant forget Branson’s own Six Flags, Silver Dollar City.

Pairing with these exciting attractions is the Branson Landing which is where you’ll find a huge string of shops and a large variety of yummy restaurants.

There is a beautiful scenic boardwalk on The Landing which has a lakefront view and if the timing is right, one might be lucky enough to catch the large fountain’s light and water show.

The White River/ Lake Taneycomo encompasses the entirety of the Eastern side of the city. This large body of water means a great boating and fishing experience. There are enough attractions in Branson to keep someone entertained for the entirety of spring break.

3. Nelson-Atkins Museum Of Art ~ Kansas City (3 h 27 min)

This museum is a great place for quiet relaxation, creative inspiration, or an exhilarating start to your spring break. It is best for just a day trip but Kansas City has many other cool attractions that could be fun for the entirety of Spring Break.
