Pageant of the Bands
High school and middle school bands performed at Pageant of the Bands in the high school gym. At the Pageant of the Bands middle schoolers are able to see the highs schoolers perform and get a chance to see what band is like in High School.
This is considered a long concert because there is six band performing with multiple songs. So many spectators come the gym overflows every year. Band parents have an opportunity to enter in the 50 50 raffle, buy merchandise, and put their names in raffle baskets. After the concert. Food trucks were parked outside the cafeteria as a fundraiser for the bands.
Pageant of the Bands is a great way to see how much students can achieve in band from 6th grade to their senior year. “I remember being a sixth grader looking up to the high school and and wanting to play like them and know I get to look back and listen to some of the songs we played when we were younger,” said Ale Anchondo (’18). High School students prove how big of an impact band has on their lives and show middle schoolers they do not have to give up other things they love or sacrifice their grades to be in band.
For high schoolers this is also a time to prepare for their upcoming contest.
Sunday’s concert was a hit and students cannot wait for next year.
