Swofford Game
The 17th Annual Holt Swofford Game took place Friday March 10, with the faculty once again reigning supreme. Despite being down two of their top players, Mr. Ernst and Mr. Davis, the teachers were still able to pull out a victory.
Possibly the best moment of the game was when Gabby Wiesner (‘17) made an amazing 3 point shot. Wiesner, an athlete but not a basketball player, made the shot from behind the 3 point line. Both Wiesner and the crowd erupted when the ball swished through the net.
However, for every drive from the seniors, the teachers responded with an even better one. And to the disappointment of the students, the teachers defeated the seniors.
Meanwhile the halftime dancers killed it on the dance floor! A mix of Justin Timberlake songs blasted over the speakers as the teachers danced along to the amusement of the crowd. For the full dance, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE_4Zt_XxvA
Altogether, Holt High School came together, raising over $4,000 for the Scott Swofford Scholarship. Next year the school hopes to raise even more and give the seniors their first win. Look out teachers, we’re coming for you!
