New Trolley
Anyone who visits St. Louis can soon explore the city on a trolley. The Loop Trolley is a 2.2 mile electric trolley that will connect the Delmar Loop to stops that include University City and Forest Park. It is currently done with construction and expected to be released late sometime this summer. They just ran their first test on Sunday, March 26.
This vehicle will play an important part in public transportation. Not only will it help people get around more easily, it would ease traffic, and you will not have to use your car as often as you do. Each trolley car is estimated to hold about 100 passengers and travel at the speed of 25 miles per hour.
Since the trolley has several stops, there are a lot of sights and attractions that you will discover on your ride.
The Delmar Loop has many restaurants and sweet treat shops for you to stop by on your way to a destination, such as Ben and Jerry’s, El Maguey, and Pi Pizzeria, not to mention, all the different stores like Loop Living and Avalon Exchange that sells clothing, furniture and much more.
The Trolley also stops at the Missouri History Museum, where you can explore exhibits that show the histories of the city we call home.
“The trolleys will connect people and neighborhoods, the past and the present.” said Executive Director, Kevin Barbeau. “From restaurants and shopping to entertainment, recreation and the arts, riders can take in the multitude of things to do along the route.”
This trolley will truly change the city for the better and give people a new outlook on what the city really represents.
