Sweetest Club Around
With the year nearing a close, clubs will also be ending for the year. One of those clubs would be the candy themed reading club. The last non invitation reading club meeting was April twenty-seventh. Many students have participated in all the wacky fun that takes place in the library every last Thursday of the month.
One of those students Ravyn Schriewer(’19) will look fondly upon this year’s reading club. ¨I liked the month of April because the librarians are always so spirited about national library month,¨ she said.
There are also the perks of the book in reading club because when new books come in, reading clubbers get the first look at them, and instead of checking out two books like everyone else, those who partake in reading club get to check out four books. Along with the books, many students love the food that you get when you bring fifty cents to reading club and when you when a prize from the challenge of the month which is often candy to fit the theme this year.
¨I came for the books, I stayed for the food,¨ Aimee Aubuchon(’17) said.
Emma Rose(18) said her favorite part of reading club is ¨The books, and the food.¨
Members of reading club recommend you try it out. ¨It would be great for anyone who enjoys reading or would like to improve their reading skill,¨ said Amberly Scott(19)
Emma Rose(18) says she would recommend it because ¨we have tons of fun talking about books and to people with similar interests¨ Altogether reading club is a fun way to talk about books and find more to read, and as many members have said the food does not hurt.
