Missouri Scholars Academy
The Missouri Scholars Academy is a program to help academically gifted students reach their full potential and motivate them to use their abilities to attain high standards of achievement.
Of the 330 high school juniors attending the program this year, there are six WSD juniors; Holt students, Jasper Pendino and Sarah Sargent, Liberty students Zachary Myers and Rishi Kondapaneni, and Timberland students, Nathaniel Beattie and Sofia Angel.
The program is being held June 11-July 1 at the University of Missouri-Columbia campus and is mainly funded by the Missouri Legislature.
MSA provides schools with experienced faculty and specialized curriculum for gifted students. In doing so, the program motivates gifted students and encourages local schools to improve their gifted education programs.
Every school in Missouri, both public and private, are allowed to nominate at least one student for the program. These academically gifted students will be exposed to a wide variety of activities and intensive learning in their chosen area of specialization.
Congratulations to these students that were selected to the MSA.
