Meet Miss Hollander

As the school year began, many unfamiliar faces were seen throughout the halls. New teachers, they are the talk of hallways, just as much as new students are. Miss Hollander is one of those new teachers. The Tribe recently asked her some questions to get to know the new teacher.

There are several schools that have degrees for teaching. Miss Hollander picked the one that would be best for her. “I attended Fontbonne University in St. Louis,” she stated.

Miss Hollander teaches science and received her major in the same field. “I chose science as my major because for as long as I can remember I have always loved science and enjoyed learning about all the different topics and new discoveries,” Miss Hollander said.

Science was not always her only choice, though. “There were many other things I was considering as a career; engineer, architect, large animal veterinarian and wildlife researcher,” Miss Hollander said.

Miss Hollander was right at home when it came to Holt.

“I chose to teach at Holt because the minute I walked into the school, I felt like this was where I was supposed to be. I came from a very small high school and a very small college so I was interested in getting away from that aspect and teach in a larger school that would challenge me as a teacher,” Miss Hollander said.

If you haven’t met Miss Hollander yet, don’t be afraid to go say hi and ask her some questions! Her classroom is A 417.
