A video of a young boy, name Keaton Jones, has gone viral recently. The video has gained fame so quickly, because of the heart wrenching story Keaton tells of his classmates bullying him relentlessly. While telling his story Keaton breaks down in tears and says “It will probably get better one day.”
It is easy to see how such a touching story would bring out sympathy and compassion from many people in the world, including many celebrities. However new allegations have come out involving Keaton’s parents.
From screenshots taken of the parents facebook, people have been directing many accusations of her being a racists, no better than the bullies who bullied her child, and only posting the video of Keaton for financial gain. Most of the comments and concerns explain they still emphasize and feel for Keaton’s story, and that their questions are only pointed at his mother who has also been accused of bullying black protesters over the internet and being unsympathetic to their problems.
One of the biggest controversies of the story are if Keaton’s parents truly care about their son and his bullying problem, or if they’re only in it for the money. MMA fighter Joe Schilling says that he reached out to his mother to try to meet up with Keaton, but was denied and told to contribute to their GoFundMe instead. “She just wants money,” Joe Schilling later went on to say. In response to this claim Keaton’s sister, Lakyn Jones claimed that the account was fake and that her mother did not contact anyone or ask for money. Lakyn Jones also said that they do not plan on receiving any money from the numerous GoFundMes’ either.
Despite what is and is not true involving the Keaton Jones story, and whether or not any of the new allegations are true, bullying in and of itself is a menace in our schools and society. No one deserves to be bullied or should be bullied, whether is it in response to past bullying or completely unprovoked.

Money can not fund to stop bullying. So far, all steps taken to address bullying have not made the impact it should. He should be able to go to school without the other kids bothering him. His mom should not have started a funding page for them, but directed the school board to anti-bullying campaigns.#25Starbucks

His mom wasn’t the one who started the campaigns and the “racist” picture was her standing next to a guy holding a confederate flag. Plenty of people don’t agree with BLM protesters that doesn’t mean they are racist. This is the same thing that happened to Ken Bone, were someone went viral and people dug through mound of past social media postings to find something controversial. Bullying is wrong, and the source of much bullying is the fabrication of information based on assumptions on on somebody who can’t defend themselves. Such as calling his mom racist without any real idea what her thoughts are. The easiest way to end bullying, racism, and all issues like it is to just stop assuming and take the time to get to know someone. Isn’t a human being worth 5 minutes of conversation?

Keaton is being bullied and that’s not cool, but his mom is trying to get money on go fund me page because her son was bullied which doesn’t make sense because that wont help the bullying problem. #25starbucks
