They Love Me, They Love Me Not. It does not matter if people are in a dearly devoted relationship or as single as a songbird, it is clearly noticeable that love is in the air. However, people do not always have a chance to dive into that picture-perfect romance that they dream of. Or do they?

This week, the library is hosting a Valentine’s themed extravaganza, and they have a plethora of fun activities and treats for everyone.

First off are the dozens and dozens of  books on display. There are books on dating, and relationships right up in the front, and a giant cart full of romance novels and tales with epic love stories. Plus, the library has the ‘Never Been Kissed’ collection, a lonely selection of books which have unfortunately been overlooked for some time now, having been checked out at most, once.

Of course there is also the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” display, a lovely collection of novels and true stories about strong women with a sinister twist.

Want to hook up with a new book? Then check out their dating profiles! Strung up along the low wall by the entrance is a set of dating profiles on characters in said books. Or swing on by the kissing booth, where people can stick their hands in and choose a book blindly.

For those who like cheesy pick-up lines, or even a surprise read, there are the aptly named ‘Pick Up Line Books’. Wrapped in paper, a table is covered with stories of all kinds, joined only by their underlying romantic storyline. Topped with a line from the story, people are invited to check out the tale just through the line.

On top of all that, the prize wheel has made an appearance, and anyone who checks out a book is able to spin it and win a prize, most of the time food.

Even for those who do not like going down to the library, there is something to do. So head on down and fall in love with a new book!
