2 Dead – Killed in Jacksonville, FL Mass Shooting

Two were shot and killed, with many more injured at a video game tournament in Jacksonville FL. David Kratz, a 24 year old Maryland resident and native was a participant in the tournament. He brought a gun into the event venue, which was a GHFL game bar and opened fire. Two were killed, nine others suffered gun wounds and two more were injured while fleeing the scene. Immediately after firing several shots he turned the gun on himself, fatally shooting himself. A possible motive has not been released.

Members of the Jacksonville fire station were doing routine training across from the site of the shooting. They were the first to the scene. They administered first aid and found three dead bodies. The bodies belonged to two victims and the body of Kratz, the shooter.

Florida has been the target of multiple mass shootings already this year. Tragedy after tragedy. Isn’t it time for a change?  17 people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in February 2018. 5 people were murdered by a gunman at Fort Lauderdale airport last year, and 49 were shot dead at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando in 2016.
