Is Homecoming Worth It?

Many may ask, “Is homecoming as fun as everyone says?” Or, “Is it even worth it to buy everything?” While many may say yes, others say otherwise. Debating whether some should go to homecoming is a hard decision. “My favorite part of homecoming was getting dressed up and being with my friends,” said Layla Carabajal (‘20).

Some may think that it is a hassle to buy expensive dresses or even suits. There are some alternatives to this dilemma. Going to a yard sale, thrift shop, or even stores such as Ross are good ways to save money on dresses, suits, or shoes.

Even if some do not have that much money, there are plenty of ways to save money. For example, you could sell old things for money. If you are artistic, there are many different ways to sell art.  Or you can find a job to help pay for the expenses.

Back to the question, is it really worth it to go? Even if you do not have a date, you can still go with plenty of friends. Or you can go make friends there. It is definitely a fun night. Each year is different so even if you had a bad time last year, you can still go this year for a different experience.
