Costumes, Pumpkin, Candy- Oh My!

Holt’s Student Council held their annual Costumes, Pumpkins, Candy- Oh My event on Thursday, October 25. Many children from around the school district came to trick or treat, play games, and have fun with other activities that were set up for them to enjoy.

The hallways were all decorated in different themes such as graveyard, ghosts and pumpkin patch. Each class room was club sponsored and had their own personal touches in decor and activities for kids to do as they walked the halls to play and get candy. In the lobby Holt’s Art Club set up face painting stations and in the gym there was cornhole, straw races and even a maze for the kids to enjoy.

“My cousin’s favorite part was the maze, and she enjoyed all the activities and decorations a lot,” said Abbi Tranor (’20). All the kids could be seen having a good time, exploring rooms with many distinct motifs like a Wakanda room with their own Black Panther, a jungle, and a superhero esque room that even featured a functioning, real person whack-a-mole game.

Through all the participation of our school, and the numerous amount of families and young children that showed up to participate, it is easy to tell that Holt was able to hold a successful and safe area for the local children of Wentzville to come and trick or treat, before Halloween even comes.
