The Gift That Keeps On Giving
Every year the French Club adopts a family through the district’s Holiday Assistance Program. Many families apply for this to get help in buying their loved one christmas presents.
“The family that we adopted has two kids and it feels good to help them out,” said Jennifer Barbour. “It helps people in our communities to get specific household needs that you might think everybody has.”
The family sends in a list of things that they need and the french students sign up to get them gifts. Some of the teachers also help out. “I couldn’t do this without the help of Patricia Schroer, Anita Fryman and the French club students,” said Jennifer Barbour.
There are many things to do in the community around the holidays. “I think it would be awesome if people were more involved in the community, there are so many things to do that nobody knows about,” said Jakob Townsley(20).
Along with the french club, STUCO helps wrap the gifts.
