How Should Students During Virtual Learning Be Graded

Students struggle with grades during virtual learning and wonder if it is fair to grade based on accuracy.

I think that grades should 100% all be participation grades and not on accuracy. The reason I think this is because we are not in a learning environment, we don’t have teachers teaching us like normal and it’s already a stressful enough time.

The amount of times I’ve had to redo things from a certain class is astronomical. My parents have even gotten sick of it. The amount of unorganized assignments has just made it so stressful for the whole family.

It’s hard to keep track of assignments from the way things are set up. I have to have at least 4 different tabs opened to even find ot what I’m missing in a class. Too many teachers are doing too many things.

Some are using Canvas, others are using Google Classroom, others are just emailing work. There’s no syllabus, no organization, and on top of that, all our grades are taken as accuracy points.

We don’t have the tools to ask questions for teachers, emailing teachers, and waiting hours for a response, is not going to help us, especially since we have multiple questions on multiple things. My parents have had to email my teachers so many times because of how out of hand all these grades have been.

Also, since everyone is home right now, the Wifi for everyone is so bad that I can’t even work most of the time because of how annoyed I get because of how many times I’ve had to restart my Chromebook because something wouldn’t start.

School is already almost over anyway, so why are we pushing the school work? Why are we making it so much harder than it should be? Everyone is struggling at this point in time, so why make it harder?
