2020’s Most Exciting Book Sequels
Every year, many different books are released, though some don’t tell the characters full stories, so their authors write sequels.
One of the first book sequels released this year was One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus. This book is a sequel to the best selling novel, One of Us Is Lying. These books are both YA mystery thrillers. The second novel follows a copycat villain with a game of truth or dare gone deadly.
Released on the same day was the book All the Days Past, All the Days to Come by Mildred D. Taylor. The book is historical fiction and takes place during the civil rights movement.
Another sequel that has already been released this year is Ransom Riggs’s newest novel, The Conference of the Birds. This is the fifth book in the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children series.
In February, fans of the Ash Princess series got the third installment of the series, titled Ember Queen. The trilogy was written by Laura Sebastian. The New York Times-best selling series is a dark fantasy.
Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff’s book Aurora Rising is back with a sequel titled Aurora Burning. Squad 312 has returned in this action packed book. This book was released this year in May.
Unravel the Dusk follows the Spin the Dawn novel, written by Elizabeth Lim. It is the second book in the Blood of Star series which follows a girl named Maia. The novel is packed with romance, magic, and adventures. The book is set to be released in July.
