Homecoming is a night that all highschool students look forward to from Freshman to Senior year. An hour into Homecoming the music was paused as Kyle Edgar (‘24) was on top of Quinn Kelly’s (‘24) shoulders. As years have gone on more and more events have occurred making Homecoming a night to remember.
Ellie Manning (‘24) shares that from freshman to senior year the homecoming’s have gotten better.
“Freshman year homecoming was really hyped up, but kinda boring,” said Manning, “while senior year you think it’s gonna be boring, but It’s actually really hyped up.”
Although seniors are celebrating their last homecoming freshman are celebrating their first.
“I really didn’t know what to expect because it was freshman year,” said Sarah Starret (‘27), “I didn’t know what you really do, but now I know what to expect for the next few years.”
Getting ready for homecoming involves a couple different views for different people. 25% of students said they took between 1 and 30 minutes to get ready. 14.6% of students said it took them between 30 minutes to an hour. 18.7% of students said between 1 to 2 hours. 20.8% said between 2 to 3 hours. 18.8% said between 4 to 5 hours. With an incredible 2.1% of students saying they took 5 hours or longer to get ready.
“I came from work, straight to pictures,” said Chase Lasater (‘24), “I think it took me a solid five minutes to get ready.”
Lasater is one of our many spirit leaders and people in charge of choosing the theme of the dance.
Lucas Casper (‘26) was part of the sophomore court this year.
“The music was pretty good, it normally always is,” said Casper.
“My favorite part of the dance, without question was when I got to hang out with friends and fellow students. After the dance I enjoyed hanging out with some of my friends from a different school.” – Kaden Evans (’24)
