Mother Nature’s Signs

Mother+Natures+Signs

On Wednesday morning, October 5, students, teachers, drivers and parents could see a large rainbow above the school. Once they got a closer look, they were able to even see the bottom of a double rainbow. It was the talk of the morning in all of the first and second hour classes.

Now seeing a rainbow is no big feat. People see rainbows all the time here in Missouri and don’t give it a second glance, but this rainbow was different. This rainbow was seen in the morning. Not a lot of people have seen a full double rainbow in the morning before.

Some students would say a rainbow in the morning is no big deal. Some would say the rainbow is an omen of good luck today. The truth about the morning rainbow is actually Mother Nature communicating with the world.

According to Survivopedia, a website with “uncommon wisdom”, if a rainbow appeared in the eastern sky in the morning, there’s a good chance that it had already rained or rain is about to come. The rainbow is caused by the sun reflecting off of moisture and most storms in the northern hemisphere move east to west.

This is interesting, but the only problem is that both Tuesday night and Wednesday are clear of perception and rain. So what does the rainbow really mean? No one will really know until nature reveals itself, but this is not the only time nature has spoken to the people.

Being able to look at the nature around you and reading the signs, people can predict the weather forecast of the day. Some other signs people can look for are animal action, wind direction, and even the moon’s appearance.

If birds or squirrels are seen eating, or searching for food more than usual it is because they sense winter coming in very soon and they are preparing for it.

If the wind is blowing to the east, expect bad weather; likewise, if it is blowing to the west, all is well.

If the moon has a circle around it, this is almost a sure sign that there’s inclement weather heading your way in the next three days or so. If it’s clear and bright, you may also be getting some humid weather. Also if the moon has an orange or pale tint, there’s dust in the air so you’re probably going to see some good weather the next day.

Everyone knows not to always trust the weather forecast, but Mother Nature won’t lie. Weather is unpredictable and spontaneous, so read the signs and listen to what Mother Nature has to say.
