Exciting Win on Senior Night

Fans and players alike were shocked by the Indians stunning 62-35 win over the Fort Zumwalt East Lions. Friday night marked the team’s second win of the season and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Not only was this the Indians first home win, but it was also Senior Night. That alone makes it special. This was last home game of the year and the last home game of the seniors’ high school career. It’s only fitting that our team would pull out a stellar performance to dominate the field.

Though this was a night for the seniors, it was also a night for sophomore running back, Cole Mueller (‘19). Mueller had 46 carries for 448 yards, including eight rushing touchdowns. The young running back was also named Fox News Athlete of the month.

The defense was also able to step up to the plate, playing their best game of the season. They restricted East’s offense to a total number of 256 yards, rushing and receiving. Also preventing the opposing team from scoring during the first half.

Historically Fort Zumwalt East has been the better team, winning most of the games played between the two teams. However, this year the Indians were able to pull away with a clutch victory towards the end of their season.

“The most exciting part of the victory was that we dominated over a winning school,” said Isaac Robinson (‘18).

The football team’s next game is this Friday, October 14, at Troy Buchanan High School.
