Costumes, Candy, Pumpkins, Oh My!

On Thursday, October 27, Holt High School hosted their annual Halloween bash, “Costumes, Candy, Pumpkins, Oh My!” The celebration was for the community, the younger community, but their families were invited as well.

Abbey Kamienski (‘20) says, “It was an event for the kids. It was a safer alternative than “trunk or treating”, because it was inside at the school.”

This occasion was a Halloween themed party. Rooms decorated their rooms differently; some decorated with themes to Disney Movies.  The yearbook room was “Alice in Wonderland”.  The newspaper room had “Up”, “Brave”, “Toy Story”, and “Frozen”.  The DECA room was also Halloween themed.

“Our room theme was Monster’s Inc., but we still had Halloween decorations in it,” Kamienski, a member of ASC, said.

The kids were able to have a fun time. They dressed up in their favorite costumes and went from classroom to classroom collecting candy and playing games.

The games consisted of musical chairs, ring toss, building a house of cards, pin the smile on the Cheshire Cat, and, of course, a dance party.

Art Club had face painting, which always had a big line.“The children really enjoyed it and that’s what matters most,” states Alec Reeves (‘20).

Overall, it was really a huge success. The community had a great little Halloween- before- Halloween. “The whole thing was a good event, it brought the community together,” Preston Shank (‘18) says.

The community really delivered. Hundreds of kids and families showed up to the event. “It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of kids there. They all enjoyed it,” states Kamienski (‘20).

Next year, don’t miss out on this event! Come and join the rest of the community in celebrating a wonderful holiday.
