Remembering Officer Snyder

Officer Blake Snyder was described as a man of faith. A loving and kind husband and father. A hero. Sadly, his life was taken all too soon.

Early on October 6th, Officer Snyder was responding to a disturbance call near Green Park. A girl called in when Trenton Forster, 18, demanded to be let into her house.

Snyder and his partner approached Forster in his car and when Snyder asked to see his hands, Forster shot and killed him. Investigators say it was “an immediate fatal wound”.

Snyder’s partner returned fire and injured Forster.

On October 19, Forster pleaded not guilty.

On November 2, previously known Clydesdale Park was renamed to honor Officer Snyder. It was changed to Blake C. Snyder Memorial Park.

Restaurants and businesses all over St. Louis County have been donating their profits to help support Officer Snyder’s family. Businesses have been donating anywhere from 10 percent to 100 percent of their profits.

Recently on November 1, Stefanina’s in Wentzville had a Dine-in Benefit where they donated 50 percent of all the profits they earned to help support Officer Snyder and other fallen officers families. They raised over $6000.

Officer Snyder was a true hero and he will always be remembered as one.
