Virtual Rea-lit-y?

The newest hype is the new virtual reality experience. Everyone should know what this is, unless of course they’ve been living under a rock. If that’s the case, then let’s go into an in-depth explanation about what this newest fad is, shall we?

In school, we all learned that we have five senses: sight, taste, touch, smell and hearing. Everything we experience in reality is a combination of all of our senses. It is arguable that there are other senses such as balance. This “sixth sense” is what helps this Virtual Reality experience amazing. The inventors of this new sensation figured that if you could mix as many of your senses with something virtual, it would make something great and they were right.

The exact definition as told by the Virtual Reality Society is this…  “Virtual reality is the term used to describe a three-dimensional, computer generated environment which can be explored and interacted with by a person. That person becomes part of this virtual world or is immersed within this environment and whilst there, is able to manipulate objects or perform a series of actions.”

To sum that explanation up, Virtual Reality comes in the form of goggles (kind of like the ones that you get during science labs, except they don’t leave a red outline on your face).
