Hat Trick Plus One

Sam Rowan gets ready to destroy the opponent.

Sam Rowan with a hat trick plus one!

That is what students at Holt High School heard last Wednesday night. It was the second half when Sam Rowan (’19) scored his fourth goal of the game.

It was almost hard to believe. Goal after goal was scored by Rowan, and the crowd just kept getting louder and louder. Within the opening ten minutes of the game, Rowan had three goals. That’s right: three goals within ten minutes.

The boys varsity soccer team played Parkway Central at home, and the game was an exciting one to watch, as Holt pulled out a huge win.

This game happened at the perfect time for Holt. Holt’s brand new pep club had just started up and this was the first game that the pep club was going to. Students had their theme for the game be white-out. The crowd of Holt stood united in that single color.

Of course with so many goals being scored, it was a very exciting game to watch. The student section was filled with many people and the crowd vibrated good vibes out onto the field.

“It was the best game I had been to all throughout my four years in high school,” said Madison Steiner (’18).

The final score of the game ended up being 6-1. Four goals came from Sam Rowan and the other two came from Jake Teater and Clayton Waple.

The next varsity home game is against Washington. The date is Sep 8 at 5:00 pm. Be there to keep their home winning streak on!
