Often, if not all the time, students will get an assignment or project and be expected to turn it in by the given date. The same applies for workers in real life at their jobs. People are busy, all the time, everywhere. We all need our own methods and tools to meet these deadlines.

John Lennon once said, “Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.” This is entirely true, and because of this, deadlines and due dates can creep up faster than anyone may dream. So, here is a review of some of the things one could do to help meet their plans.

• Immediate reaction. Instead of procrastinating and waiting until the day of the assignment to complete it, or in more severe cases, start it, one could just do it, and complete it as soon as possible. This will free up time, especially if the task is completed before it is due.  A reward of this will be less stress because it will not be a recurring thought that it needs to be completed and will leave one with more free time.
• Organization. More than not, disorganization is what occurs with many individuals. So, if immediate reaction is not the optimal decision, try organization. The best way to explain this is to plan times to participate or work on said assignment. Depending on the task, it may require a hour a day, or an hour a week. It really depends and varies based on the assignment.
• Be Prudent. Actually showing interest in the task at hand can be a huge help. It allows you to be able to show enthusiasm in something, and in turn, get it done faster. Also, it allows quality to take form. This is arguably the best thing which will determine “good work” or “bad work”.

People often have their specific study tools, or ways to meet deadlines, which are unique to that person. “I plan it out, decide what I need and where I need to get it”, said Lydia Stewart (’18). So, since there are a plethora of methods that are offered to meet deadlines, one is sure to suit. Just maybe, one of these will suit you into accomplishing some of your goals.
