Michael Blunt cradles his prized water bottle.

One fateful day, Lillian Bancroft (‘18) sent out a survey entitled “What Makes You Legendary”. The survey asked students to describe a special talent that they possess. Bancroft received many amazing responses from many students in our school, yet one stood out far above the rest.

Michael Blunt (‘19) told our magazine staff about his water bottle. A silver, metal, half gallon doozy of a water bottle. Blunt thought it would be a travesty to deny the student body a glimpse into his water bottle extravaganza, so he had to let us know. We found him in Mrs. Petrus’ 8th hour class, siping lackadaisically on his most prized possession.

As we questioned further, we found out that what makes him legendary ISN’T the water bottle itself, but rather what he can do with it. Blunt was gifted with a talent only true gods of our generation possess- he can flip his ginormous metal water bottle 360 degrees and land it on its bottom.

It took a bit of convincing, but Blunt allowed us to videotape the historic moment. Walking toward the carpeted area outside of the main office, Michael stopped to put the perfect amount of water in the bottle to ensure optimal flipping conditions.

He started off with a fair amount of flops- 17 to be exact. The clanging sound of metal on carpeted tile was deafening each time he missed the mark. Michael started to lose footing.
But then, just as all hope was lost, he stared into the camera, steeled his gaze, and landed the water bottle on its end. The crowd went wild!

Arms outstretched, he accepted his win with grace and style. When asked if he was going to submit another sarcastic response to a survey he responded, “Probably. Well, I don’t like class, so…”
