Throughout the winter, athletes have been training for their sports that begins in the spring. Spring sports are now in full motion for the 2019 season, and many have already had their first games or are beginning to have their first games.

Last friday, baseball and girls soccer had their first games. The girls soccer team was at Liberty and they were able to crunch out a 5-2 win with a hat trick from Jewel Morelan (‘19). Baseball lost to Hannibal 14-11, but are ready to come back from that defeat.

Many athletes are very excited about the season that is coming up and some are excited about their recent victories.

“It’s amazing to win at the beginning of the season because it holds promise for a good season,” said Rachel Nolte (‘20).

On top of everything, last Friday was the annual Swofford game. Unfortunately, the seniors were not able to overcome their 14 year losing streak.

Coming up this week there is a very exciting week if you are an Indian. Below are Holt’s games for the next week, including many first games.
