During Winter Sports Media Day, held on November 26, Mackenzie Rutherford (’20) has high aspirations for this season.

Basketball is one of the sports that everyone has been waiting for.  

This is Coach Justin Wilmes eighth year coaching basketball, but he has been here for five years and this will be his third as the head coach for the girls basketball team.  Wilmes also teaches math and has been teaching math for six years. Wilmes also coaches the freshman softball team. 

The girls basketball team has won many championships some dating back to 1997 an the prospects for this season look good.

Riley Eagan, ‘20  is one of the managers for the team. She has been managing the team for two of  the four years she has been here at holt. If she wasn’t playing softball she would of played for the team. Riley likes being the manager for the team because she likes to be hanging out with her friends as well as supporting them. 

Many of the girls are very pumped for this season to start.

“I’m excited to play with all of my good friends this last season,” Claudia Adam (‘20) said. 

Sydney Reddin, who has been on the varsity team for two years, is just a sophomore. The two years she has been in high school, she has enjoyed playing on the varsity team, She wanted to play because her sister played basketball and Sydney wanted to play with her.
