Five athletes at Holt prepare to sign for the next four years.

On February 11, five athletes from Holt High School came to a final decision and signed to play at the collegiate level after high school. After years of work, this is often a monumental decision for athletes and their athletic career.

Each athlete decided to sign with a different college for a variety of sports. Cale Bunner (’20) decided to continue his football career with Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, MO. One of Holt’s baseball players, Drew Sutton (’20), will pursue his athletic career at Millikin University in Decatur Illinois.

In addition to those names, three of Holt’s soccer players made the decision to play in college. Jacob Goldstein (’20) signed for soccer at Lewis and Clark in Godfrey, Illinois. Additionally, Michaela Beedy (’20) will be continuing at Central Methodist in Fayette, MO. The last player to sign was Rachel Nolte (’20) at Westminster in Fulton, MO.

This moment is a build up of many years of playing a sport and countless hours of training. These athletes have a lot to think about as they reflect on their history of playing the sport and what is to come for them in the next chapter of their life.

“I’m excited to pursue soccer at a more competitive level and go forward as a student and athlete,” Nolte said.

Good luck to these athletes as they start their collegiate careers.
