Trying out new foods is a good way to prevent boredom.

One big issue that everyone may be facing during this quarantine is the habit of snacking. With being inside all day, people get bored and boredom often leads to eating, which then leads to a feeling of guilt.

Of course snacks aren’t bad for you, in fact many experts recommend that you eat smaller meals throughout the day. However, some food does hold more nutritional value than others.

Throughout the majority of this pandemic, people can spend time learning how to make new foods that may be healthier than what they normally eat. Below are some ideas on these healthy recipes, and all you need is a blender.

Chickpea cookie dough:

Ingredients:

1 can of skinned chickpeas

2 tsp pure vanilla extract

¼ cup peanut butter

¼ cup oats

¼ cup maple syrup

Some chocolate chips!

  1. Skin the chickpeas… you’ll be able to do this with your hands and the skin should come right off.
  2. Put everything into a blender/food processer. I recommend slowly adding the chickpeas as they do NOT like to blend.
  3. Take everything out of the blender, mix in some delicious chocolate chips, and enjoy!

Berry Smoothie Bowl:

Ingredients:

1 cup of frozen berries of your choice

1 banana

1 scoop of protein powder (vanilla preferably, but it’s always fun to experiment!

3 tbsp of milk

  1. Throw everything in a blender and mix!
  2. Put it all in a bowl, and top with any of the following:
  • Shredded coconut
  • Oatmeal
  • Flax seeds
  • Chia seeds
  • Almonds
  • Whatever your heart desires.

Green smoothie bowl:

Ingredients:

2 bananas

1 cup of frozen berries

Handful of kale

Handful of spinach

¼ of an avocado

2 cups milk

2 tbsp peanut butter

  1. Just like the previous one, you are going to take some very hard steps, so listen carefully. Grab everything, throw it all in a blender. Put it in a bowl. Now for your toppings:
  • Granola
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Hempseeds
