What does StuCo actually do?

Many people wonder about and even hate on some of the things that StuCo does.  Many comments come from social media regarding the certain powers that “StuCo thinks they have,” but there is a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to the kids behind the posters.

Yes, they make posters to post around the school, but most people do not know about the stressful life that a StuCo member can lead.  The countless due dates and supplies needed to keep the school functions  alive come from the small budget and the pockets of most of the kids in the class named “Student Leadership.”

The beloved Mrs. Chase guides these students in a direction and then her hands are off of each project.  Many people do not realize that all of the assemblies and every project is run strictly by kids and that is pretty much it.  Very few adults get into the affairs of a StuCo student and it can be stressful.

The stress can be great, but the fun behind StuCo helps ease the pressure off of these scholars and everyone that takes part becomes a part in a great big family of leaders in order to leave their legacy of ideas scrawled in notebooks and on the walls of each workshop.

Homecoming, most of the school functions and spirit days come from these kids whom we call leaders. Do not get them wrong though; they love what they do, even though the credit may be little. The amount of satisfaction that comes from each event fills the hearts of each kid in the Holt High School StuCo, which is why they persist.
