Watch What You Say

Words hurt so be kind and thoughtful before you open your mouth.

Words hurt so be kind and thoughtful before you open your mouth.

No name calling week(NNCW) is a week to bring awareness to bias based bullying and the bullying of LGBTQ+ students. This week was created by GLSEN in 2004 to help build a safer environment for these students. With the social climate of the past few months, this week has become even more necessary.

NNCW will be taking place January 18-22 and will be a time to think about how the words you use could affect the people around you. Around this school many students use language which leads to their peers feeling unsafe in a place meant for learning and exploration.

During this week, take active note of what words you are using. You are encouraged to stand up to people that are name calling and hopefully continue this trend even past this week.
