The radio station, NOW 96.3, recently hosted their first ever NOW Night Out on September 2nd. It featured seven artists including Fifth Harmony, who was headlining their 7/27 Tour, JoJo, Daya, Victoria Monet, Timeflies, Ruth B, and St. Louis natives, The Madison Letter.

The Madison Letter is a two-man band consisting of Clayton Jones (vocals) and Tyler Ross (vocals and drums.) Duos like this are very good at staying in touch with their fans through social media and being quick to announce shows they have recently booked in the area before actually being allowed to release details of the event.

The Madison Letter will be performing alongside Jon Bellion and Gnash at The Pageant on December 9th for the NOW 96.3 annual Let it Snow show. The band has promised their longtime fans free meet and greets after their set.

What is the history behind the band?

“We started The Madison Letter six and a half years ago after meeting in college. Over the years we’ve released two EP’s and a full-length album, played in over 30 states, and have been fortunate enough to open up for some amazing artists such as Fifth Harmony, The Script, JoJo, and Daya.”

What is the reason for calling yourselves The Madison Letter?

“The name comes from a document President Madison helped write that said, “It’s the duty of all people to practice forbearance, love, and charity towards one another.” We believe that people are people, and everyone deserves to be treated with the same level of love and respect.”

Have you always wanted to make music? Was there ever another dream you thought of pursuing?

“Music has always been the leading dream job for both of us. We each started at a fairly young age and haven’t been able to stop. A fun fact about Clayton is that before getting into music, he wanted to study reptiles. He actually owns four snakes.”

What is your ultimate goal as a band? Where do you see yourselves in five years?

“Our dream is to travel the world, playing shows night after night, and positively influencing people’s lives with our music on and off the stage. Our five-year goal is to be a household name, have a billboard charting song, and to be on the road 150 days out of the year, traveling internationally as well.”

Favorite band, TV show, a place to visit in the St. Louis area?

“Favorite band for Clayton is The Script and for Tyler is Anberlin.

Favorite TV shows are House of Cards, Parks and Recreation, and Breaking Bad.

One of our favorite places to go in St. Louis is honestly New Town, St. Charles. It has a really cool European feel to it and we have some good friends out there which always makes it a good time!”

All quotes are from Clayton and Tyler themselves.
